The NFT drop ‘NYers Collection’ is all set to launch by PopCom on 20th June in NYC.
The launch of Historic Vending Machine NFTs will take place at the Hilton in Midtown from 12 to 2 p.m. ET, and the sale will run from June 20th through June 24th. Ten NFTs will be accessible on a first-come, first-served basis, thanks to a partnership with New York artist Christopher ‘KNXTTI’ Green.
Following the genesis drop, NFT owners will unlock further bonuses in this fusion of physical and digital usefulness on June 20th.
CEO of PopCom Dawn Dickson said that artists commercialized their artwork with more methods than ever before. He also added that NFTs had been the buzz and they were taking a step further.
The NFT collector will receive a high-quality print of the NYers Collection from the machine and a QR code to mint a digital NFT for $500.
The NYers Collection has cartoon depictions of Biggie, Whoopi Goldberg, Mike Tyson, Jay-Z, and Donald Trump, among other well-known New Yorkers.
She explained that artists could sell through automated vending as PopCom would allow them to offer work in both virtual and physical worlds without auctions or galleries.
Christopher ‘KNXTTI’ Green explained that NFT artists were not used to buying their work physically. It was all disconnected and digital and her collaboration with PopCom would connect the gap.
The sneaker drop,’ a cultural phenomenon in which fans demand limited-edition sneakers by their favorite designer, inspired the notion. “This is a sneaker drop for musicians,”
NFT transactions are contactless and automated, thanks to PopCom’s vending technology.
